Sunday Snippet

Fiona taught us this week using talks from Sister Beck and Daniel L Johnson of the Seventy in 2006 and the Latter Day Saint woman manual and recent Relief Society training.
As Relief Society women we are guiding lights to others... we should however feel...LIT UP not BURNT OUT! If we are burnt out we are less inclined to feel, recognise and act on the promptings of the spirit and also less inclined to want to serve.
We are all blessed with
  • Time:- We should consider our time as golden it is actually wealth, use it wisely.
  • Talents:- Talents are gifts from God and are to be cultivated and used for His purposes.
  • Possessions:- We should take care of the possessions we have responsibility for and be willing to sacrifice possessions for the building up of Zion. Tithiing is one way we can do this. 3Nephi 24:10
Doctrine and Covenants 58:37 Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness.
We are anxiously engaged when things are important, we are whole hearted, and concerned.
This is when we are LIT UP.
When we are not anxiously engaged we maybe stressed, or procrastinate, or lazy and it may seem we are BURNT OUT.

Stake Relief Society President, Sister Katie demonstrated how we may be hindering our ability to succeed the word subtle.
Seemingly
Unimportant
Behaviours
That
Lead to
Error

Sister Katie also told of the weevils in her almond storage... she noticed that every single almond had just the top eaten, the weevils had only bitten off what they could chew.
