Sunday Snippet

Our Relief Society President Blanche gave our lesson this week on the seasons of a woman's life. With assistance from the priesthood sisters serving in Primary and Young Womens were able to attend the lesson too.

Blanche played the beautiful CD "She" by Cherie Call and drew a simile between us and chocolate. We all have something the same but we are all different varieties.
We are all daughters of our Heavenly Father and we all have a divine nature.

ECCLESIASTES 3: 1-8 was read by Vanessa
3:1 To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ...

The seasons and times in a woman's life are: Childhood, Puberty, Adolescence, Single, Career, Callings, Wife, Motherhood, Menopause, Grandmother, Old age, Widow. It is important to be in the season your in at the time and not wishing to be elsewhere.

We then discussed the pros and cons of motherhood. The sleep deprivation, worry, disappointment, and not being valued by society. The relationship, happiness, joy, laughter, sense of fulfillment and unconditional love. In some ways we are all mothers.

We then heard personal experiences from Andy, Fiona, Ellie and Hannah.
The choices we make impact on our families and we need to seek Heavenly Fathers guidance before making decisions.

Blanche drew another simile with a daffodil. We need to have times of dark and cold in order to produce a beautiful flower. Trials help us reach our potential.
We watched a short video "Motherhood an Eternal Partnership with God" by Jeffery R Holland.
(Click on the link above Sunday Snippet), and we closed with the advice:
"When days and nights are most challenging, rely on Heavenly Father."
