This Sunday Relief Society and Priesthood were again combined to see a DVD about Family History and New Family Search. Brother Stokes gave us a flyer to help with registration, getting started, learning the basics and getting help.
The new Familysearch had replaced TempleReady as the means for preparing and submitting name for temple ordinances. We saw two excerpts from the DVD. "Emma Story" highlighted being connected to our ancestors and "Connections" showed us how to register and get started on new.familysearch.org . The DVD was designed to familiarise people with new. familysearch. To use this program at home you need an internet connected computer and to register you need your church membership number, which is found on your Temple Recommend, and your birthdate. The Ward Family History Consultants, Marjorie Lorraine, Andrea Groombridge and Lyn Drews, are able to come to your home and help you get started. If you don't have access to a computer you may come to the Family History Centre and use their many resources. Redeeming the dead and sealing families together forever is an important mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints.
